Kudos coming your way...1

I am an independent educator who works with teachers, schools and students. I work with people to improve the relationship between teaching, learning, schooling, technology, curriculum and all the people involved.

I travel all over to help others use technologies in wise and wonderful ways. I am VERY lucky to get to do work I find challenging, rewarding, and important!

a more formal biographical sketch of me:
I am a former classroom teacher. I still believe that teaching is my calling and a deep part of who I am. I taught in Southern California inner-city schools for 9 years before moving into district and regional positions in staff development and technology in the classroom. I founded a company, Lovely and Associates, to help educators integrate technology and curriculum through excellent staff development and support. After earning my Master’s Degree in Educational Computing from Pepperdine University, I enjoyed being an Adjunct Professor there for many years, teaching technology integration courses to students in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Along the way I have hosted an online community for teachers on Scholastic Network, founded the K2 Email List for Classroom Connect, and written ongoing columns in Learning and Leading with Technology, Instructor Magazine, Electronic Learning, and Curriculum Administrator Magazine. I love to teach and continue to do so by sharing my vision for the active classroom, the improvement of the relationship between teacher, learner and curriculum and other inspirational yet practical messages through many keynote sessions at educational conferences, through my website - www.GailLovely.com which averages more than 65,000 “hits” per month, and by hosting professional development seminars. Honors: I have been honored to receive “Best of the Best” for my workshops at NECC for 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 2006, 2007, and 2008 I was humbled to be named a “Spotlight Speaker” for a concurrent session at NECC as well. Keynoting the Illinois ICE Conference in 2006 and the Nebraska Educational Technology Association (NETA) Conference in the same year were additional honors for me. In the last year, I have been an invited or featured presenter at FETC, METC, GAetc, ILC 2008, and ACSI. I was named “Trainer of the Year” for the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children for 2006.
